Job Purpose:
Manager - Quality Assurance is responsible for the quality assurance of incoming raw materials, packaging, intermediates and finished goods. He also handles customer complaints redressal process and prevention & control of nonconforming product within the plant.
Business Responsibility Areas:
• Assists Sr. Manager - QA for meeting the plant goals for quality.
• Ensures implementation of Quality management system (QMS) within QA department and across the plant.
• Ensures adherence to legal metrology act and quality system within the plant for VAM/VAE processing, packing and polymer processing operations.
• Ensures effective customer complaint redressal by accurate problem solving and implementation of identified action plans. Participation in cross functional teams with marketing and technology function for customer complaint resolution.
• Ensures Vendor Management -Ability to negotiate with vendors, create parameters for their performance evaluation, identify gaps in service and supply.
• Take part in cross functional plant teams in quality improvement by FMEA, lean and Six sigma projects.
• Ensures the control on packing material quality by vendor audits and prevention of rejections by effective CAPA
• Ensures adherence to revenue budget and timely completion of Capital expenditure.
• Ensures compliance to Environment and safety management system (EMS & SMS)
• Responsible for goal setting, review and management of performance of direct reports and indirect reports comprising of Sr. Executives and Executives.
• Ensure operational assurance and improvement - Ability to understand technical details of functioning of a machine, tool or equipment to identify and analyze problems and their causes
• Ensures Financial controls and Process Governance -ability to oversee financial aspects of the department, such as provisioning, overhead costs management & cost of assets against utilization, and commercial aspects
• Ensures Inventory Management - Ability to manage inventory, handle storage of material, meet safety and cost requirements, analyze demand, ensure timely release of material, manage stock reconciliation and material delivery
• ER/IR Management - Ability to resolve conflicts, manage teams, delegate jobs, motivate teams and assess industrial and union situations at work place
• Knowledge of project management - Ability to define projects, plan & develop scope, define project standards and timelines, track the progress and execute projects as per agreed guidelines.
• Knowledge of Process Management - Ability to understand new & existing processes/equipment, design, draft and modify them as required. Ability to conduct process audit, identify deviations and encourage process adherence.
• Ensures Training Design and Execution- Ability to design training modules & communication materials to train employees on a given subject.
• Knowledge on Measurement systems – Operations of testing instruments, Calibration process , Measurement system Analysis verification of critical equipments
• Knowledge of Process standardization, design validation process
• Ensures Internal Capability Development- working on developing required knowledge and skills of team to ensure smooth operations and enhancement in capability of the team.
Qualifications:
• Essential – Bachelor degree in Chemical/Petro Chemical engineering/ M.sc Chem.
• Desired – Knowledge of SAP
• Desired - Six Sigma black belt certification/ Certified quality engineer
• Desired – Certified IMS auditor
• Desired – Knowledge of LEAN , Manufacturing Excellence
Previous Experience:
• Essential - Manager quality in a manufacturing process industry like FMCG, chemical processing with 10+ years of experience.
• Desired - Manager in Quality domain from FMCG/Chemical industries
