Finance and Accounts

The finance team at Asian Paints works closely with the business to understand the story behind the numbers. The department comprises teams for accounts, taxation, legal, finance, secretarial and the shared service centre. This results in a plethora of roles for employees to have varied exposure – some focus on book keeping, ensuring that necessary compliances and checks are maintained, while others do exploratory research to evaluate new business and markets, to support organisational growth.

The team appreciates people who understand business processes and how internal systems work. This helps one comprehend what the financial numbers really mean, and their implication for the business. They also act as conscience keepers for the business, so that laws are complied within letter, but also in spirit. This involves advising the business on a regular basis, and also partnering with them to enable compliance.

Structure

Accounts

We play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of financial information, supporting informed decision-making, regulatory compliances, and stakeholder confidence in the company's financial reporting. Our focus area is to ensure adequate controls over financial reporting and bring readiness for evolving regulatory environment.

Secretarial

They handle all responsibilities of reporting to the government, managing shareholder grievances, and organizing board meetings for the company.

Shared Service Centre

We are a dynamic team involved in improving productivity, bring efficiencies and implementing a structured control framework in Procure-to-Pay processes at organization level. Responsible for standardization, simplification, and transformation of processes by reducing variations and focusing on business value propositions along with creating delight to stakeholders. We bring best-in-class ways of working by leveraging technologies and driving digital transformation.

Finance

This team provides financial insights, analysis and guidance to support strategic decision making, drive financial performance and achieve organizational objectives. The responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, performance monitoring, strategic planning, treasury management, handling of insurance and investor relations.

Taxation

They ensure compliance to tax requirements across the organization, monitor the external environment and work closely with internal stakeholders to implement necessary changes in taxation laws.

Internal Audit

The internal audit is responsible for assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of overall internal controls, risk management, and governance systems including identifying areas of potential risk or inefficiency and recommending improvements to enhance the organization's processes and operations. They collaborate across functions in organization and provide insights to enable informed decision making and strengthen the organization resilience to safeguard shareholder interest.

Legal

Legal department works as a strategic partner for the organization by providing legal advice and guidance to tackle complex issues. It ensures the company's compliance with the laws, reviews and drafts contracts, manages intellectual property rights, mitigates legal risks, and protects the company's interests.
