Manufacturing

We have a robust manufacturing network comprising of 8 state-of-the-art facilities across the country with a total installed in-house decorative paint capacity of 1,730,000 KL/annum. These manufacturing facilities leverage cutting-edge technology to ensure superior quality control, safety, and sustainability throughout the production process. We maintain open communication channels and have constructive dialogue with our employees and their representatives to address their issues. Trade unions at our manufacturing plants support collective bargaining, maintain harmony, and ensure uninterrupted operations. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the manufacturing practices, with facilities adhering to stringent environmental standards and implementing eco-friendly initiatives to minimize carbon footprint and waste generation.

Logistics and Distribution

The team at Asian Paints works with cutting-edge technology ensuring connectivity to the dealer within 4-6 hours of order placement. Leveraging the power of data, innovation, and ingenuity; an optimized and accurate flow of material across 150 sales locations and 35 manufacturing sites across the country is orchestrated to perfection daily. This helps us ensure customer satisfaction across more than 1,70,000 touchpoints adding colours in the lives of the final consumers. Availability of an entire range of over 3500 SKUs across the entire expanse of the nation is maintained with state-of-the-art execution systems. We designed control towers to provide us real-time status and decision support. The Warehousing and Logistics operations are configured to handle the scale and skews. The transportation team has set up an optimized network of supply modes leveraging not just the road routes but also via railways and the sea.

We are dedicated to sourcing high-quality raw and packing materials and services globally, ensuring the uninterrupted production of our innovative paint and coating solutions. Through strategic supplier partnerships and rigorous vendor evaluation processes, we uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability. Our procurement team leverages market intelligence and negotiation expertise to secure the best value for our company while adhering to ethical sourcing practices and collaborating with suppliers to innovate and create mutual value. We have also launched a Responsible Procurement Policy to guide our internal procurement decision-making in line with our code of conduct. We are focused on sustainability; we aim to minimize environmental impact throughout our supply chain.

Demand forecasting

Demand is the underlying basis for any planning system as it threads the entire supply chain driving all decisions across the network. At Asian Paints, we use a mix of real-time and historic data and market intelligence and by leveraging advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms arrive at the Best in the Industry forecast. Using the power of data along with intelligence gathering from the market with the help of a dedicated team looking at the latest trends, the depot SKU level estimates are arrived at. Over and above this, cutting-edge Machine learning models are being leveraged to fine-tune the forecast mix and to do demand sensing multiple times within a month.

Planning

We have taken a concerted effort in utilizing data for building one of the finest data driven decision making tool in supply chain. Our Next Gen supply chain engine is at the heart driving the decisions to determine the Production Plans, the Deployment Plans, and the Procurement Plans. With the help of the technology the decision making is agile and enables the Asian Paints supply chain to deliver excellence daily. We are constantly looking at enhancing our supply chain engine by leveraging analytics and by getting into day level production & dispatch scheduling.

Contract Manufacturing Department

In line with our passion for unmatched service levels, we have a network of outsourced processing centres (OPCs). OPCs are our value chain partners which are equally capable to produce range, quality products as our own plants. Having said that OPCs are not just capable for cost efficiency but also equipped with best in class processing & quality capability at the same time. These footprints will keep increasing as we grow & increase our range of products.

New Products, Purchased Products, and New Initiatives

As the world is changing for more choices & ever-changing needs, our supply chain teams work very closely with Sales & Marketing teams and R&T teams on innovative product development to production to launch journey. Not limiting to support in introducing newer products in the market, we take pride in launching product significantly faster & ensuring post launch demand-sensing support.

Joint Value Creation

Dedicated to collaborating with vendors for development of new raw materials, new sources, value engineering existing raw materials, joint evaluation of value propositions and new chemistries developed by vendors Facilitate the right choices in RM Sourcing giving a strategic advantage in cost and service. Collaboration with R&T and New products team for introducing newer product propositions for meeting the changing demands of the customers and development of improved testing methods.

Our approach involves expanding our manufacturing capacity footprint in India as well as overseas through both greenfield projects and brownfield expansions thus enabling us to meet the demand of the customer and consolidate our position as the leading paints company in India. In addition, we also play a key role in the strategic investments of the organization like backward integration projects in India enabling the vision of Make in India. The function also works on improving the usage of green energy for manufacturing locations in India through renewable energy sources. Evaluating and putting up next-gen technologies in an integral part of the function.
