External Job Description

  • Conduct safety induction programs for new entrants and continuous safety training for all plant employees.
  • Organize mock drills, emergency preparedness programs, and train employees on emergency planning.
  • Participate in and close action points from plant safety meetings.
  • Conduct daily safety rounds and share observation and compliance reports.
  • Ensure regular Toolbox Talks for employees and contract workers.
  • Maintain effective safety communication through displays, signage, safety literature, magazines, and annual safety performance reports.
  • Promote employee and contractor involvement through safety goals, improvement projects, suggestion schemes, and safety campaigns.
  • Ensure statutory inspections of lifting tools, tackles, pressure vessels, and other equipment through third‑party agencies.
  • Conduct non‑statutory inspections and ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements via Polestar, GRC, and related portals.
  • Participate in internal and external safety audits and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HAZOP, FMEA, and contractor safety assessments.
  • Monitor and control contractor safety performance through inspections, reviews, and reward & penalty systems.
  • Ensure regular inspection, availability, and proper maintenance of safety equipment, guards, interlocks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Enforce strict compliance with work permit systems, safe isolation procedures, and hazardous substance control.
  • Procure, distribute, and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all plant personnel.
  • Monitor workplace environmental factors such as noise, dust, ventilation, and electrical safety systems.
  • Ensure fire risk assessment of hazardous areas and effective maintenance of firefighting systems, hydrants, extinguishers, and fire alarms.
  • Report and investigate all incidents and near misses within defined timelines and maintain incident trend analysis.
  • Identify, recognize, and manage potential loss areas while ensuring workplace hygiene, safety displays, and 5S implementation.
  • Manage safety department budgets (Capex & Revenue) and maintain knowledge of IMS, ISO 45001, and BSC 5‑Star Safety systems, including BBS program implementation.
