Job Purpose
Responsible to Implement a plan for PM, Testing & ensuring the healthiness of the overall system.
Responsible to ensuring that the Equipment/ mechanical system & are maintained at best efficiency.
Responsible for the AMC services & adherence to schedule of engineering
Complying with the statutory requirement with plant requirement.
The Position is also responsible to implement capex in the plant as part of upgradation and productivity improvements.
The Position is also responsible of procurement and technical evaluation of the tender.
Minimize Equipment downtime and hence maximize equipment availability through preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance
Reduction in revenue expenditure through kaizen/Improvements
Energy Management
Management of Stores and Spares
Capex planning and execution
Operations & maintenance of Utilities (Air Compressor, ethylene and other compressors, cooling tower, IBR boiler, Chiller, Nitrogen plant, and other utility services)
Ensure compliance and effectiveness of AMC schedule
Shift/manpower management
Business Responsibility Areas
- Ensure continuous running of the plant by:
Adherence to PM schedule all the mechanical equipments.
Availing & ensuring the effectiveness of AMC services.
Maintaining the history of maintenance record.
2. Breakdown Maintenance, to reduce breakdown and to increase availability :
Review of the maintenance schedule
Identify the root cause of failure.
Implementation of suitable corrective action and preventive action
Review of the engineering personnel day to day activity.
Coordinating with the cross functional team to achieve day’s target.
Regular interaction with the team member to check compliance.
3. Liasoning and statutory compliance
Review of the schedule & timely remittance of statutory fees for renewal.
Execution of renewal activity as per schedule
Maintaining the certificates as required by the statutory authority.
Reporting deviations if any and plan for mitigation of the risk.
4. Capex implementation
Proposing the capex budget along with the user dept after making a plan
Making budgetary proposal
Planning and execution of the capex
Review the progress of the capex projects
Cost control
Reporting the compliance as per plan
5. Critical Spare management
Interacting with vendor for the spares, negotiation, and other technical discussion.
Vendor evaluation and vendor selection
Review and approve minimum inventory of critical spares.
Developing the interchangeability of spares, Equipments
6. Contractor management
Release of Annual maintenance contract to maintain the equipment, review of AMC vendor.
Ensuring the timely Processing contractor invoices by certifying the measurement on a regular basis.
Cost control and manpower control in terms of number of persons coming in the plant.
Ensuring statutory compliance by the contractor.
7. Cost monitoring & control
Review of the spend against budget.
Drive the energy efficiency initiatives.
Reporting the compliance and in case of any overshoot, Mitigation to be planned.
8. ISO 9000, 14000, and 45000 system
Training to the engineering personnel
Implementation of the maintenance manual at shop floor
Periodic review of HIRA, aspect Impact of activity involved.
Check on the process to ensure no deviations.
Ensuring the strict adherence to safety requirements while performing the activities.
Self- assessment of the process to be done to ensure compliance.
Update of manual with best practice by change management processes.
Regular check to ensure compliance.

Compliance to calibration schedule
Adherence to maintenance schedule for various infrastructure and equipment
Adherence to time schedule for execution of assigned project.
Compliance with engineering standards, Statutory requirement, APL quality & EHS system requirement.
