Role Description
Job Purpose
•    Monitoring the effluents from all departments and analyzing them on various parameters and ensuring that the treated water is free of harmful chemicals. Maintaining proper documentation required by statutory authorities

    Daily Activities
a) Marking the attendance of ETP operators and staff and giving it to the production Officer-Level I.
b) Giving the total Industrial and Domestic Water treated on a daily basis.
c) Checking the status of all pumps and motors etc in ETP and informing Plant engineering in case of any problems or breakdowns of these machines.
d) Checking the Industrial and domestic water pumped to ETP on the previous day and instructing the operator accordingly for pumping the same to ETP in case it has not been done.
e) Ensuring the implementation of good housekeeping practices in ETP and scrap yard and implementing 5S practices.
f) Checking the status of each unit in ETP and taking appropriate action to rectify any problem.
g) Checking the incinerator on a daily basis and informing plant engineering in case of any breakdowns or problems.
h) Instructing the incinerator operators about the batches to be taken through the incinerator.
i) Ensuring that the required equipment is available to all ETP and incinerator operators and issuing proper PPE to contract workmen employed in ETP / Hazardous Scrap yard, barrel cleaning area.
j) Analyzing the water quality of the influent and effluent for parameters like PH, TSS, TDS, and COD etc.
k) Sending the ETP performance reports to all concerned Managers in the plant on a daily basis.
l) Updation of daily ETP performance display board.
m) Ensuring that the container crusher operation is undertaken on a daily basis.
n) Ensuring the regular (daily) updation of the scrap register, and ETP and incinerator log sheets.
o) Issuing manifest to the scrap material lifted everyday.
p) Checking all the collection pits in the plant and ensuring the pumping of water to ETP so that there are no overflows.
q) Updation of the daily report of treated water – QR PRD and QR EMS (all QRs & ERs updation) regularly.
r) Ensuring the pumping of treated water to overhead tanks for using for gardening and other purposes.
s) Updating the “treated water register” with production figures and industrial and domestic water figures.
t) Updating the chemical consumption register.
u) Ensuring the smooth running of the Centrifuge without fail.
v) Ensuring the movement of the sludge barrels regularly to the incinerator without spillage.
w) Monitoring & maintain Hazardous Scrap yard.
x) Monitoring & maintaining waste barrel yard & barrel cleaning operation.
y) Monitoring & maintain D.I. Water / Soft Water Plants.
