External Job Description

Job Purpose
Drive initiatives and projects in the area of packing material development arising out of various changes in the existing designs of packing materials or introduction of new packing materials and vendors.

Job Responsibilities
➢ Design & Develop Primary, secondary & tertiary packaging for new products & 
existing products. 
➢ Should understand the artwork development process/requirement and 
coordinate with relevant stakeholders – Marketing, design agency, quality, 
plant & vendors for approvals.
➢ Must be good in MS Excel for PM stock taking, planning & monitoring the stock 
consumption.
➢ Should have knowledge of rigids – Plastics & Metals. Understanding of Plastic 
molding processes & Tin plate containers manufacturing & printing for 
packaging validations to work on projects. 
➢ Process understanding & execution of new vendor development, existing 
vendor extensions for new & existing packaging materials.
➢ Should understand different formats of packaging to analyse challenges & 
propose/evaluate technical solutions for packaging projects (Development & 
quality improvement)
➢ Identify & evaluate new packaging innovation, sustainability, cost saving ideas.

➢ Prepare & compile monthly reports to be circulated to hierarchy and Purchase 
– Monthly highlights, artwork reports, cost saving tracker, Objective List 
records.
➢ Documentation – Mold data management, knowledge of SAP for 
Specifications, test methods, PO creation, packaging trials documentation & 
reports. Creating & sharing monthly highlights, cost saving tracker & other 
relevant monthly reports. 

Qualifications
Essential
• Post Graduate in Packaging from IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) or SIES 
Desired
• Science graduate + CIPET (Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET))

Previous Experience
Essential
• Minimum 1-3 years in PM development, PM Purchase
