Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Laboratory Management, New Product Introduction, Contract Manufacturing Quality Governance, and Quality Systems across the organization. The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001 requirements, customer specifications, regulatory standards, and business objectives while driving continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilites
Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001)
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Lead internal, external, customer and certification audits, and manage CAPA, risk management, change control, document control and management reviews.
Product Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Oversee incoming, in-process and finished goods quality control, including product release and non-conformance management.
- Monitor quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
Incoming Material Quality & Supplier Quality Assurance
- Establish supplier qualification and approval processes and manage incoming inspection of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Conduct supplier audits, vendor evaluations and performance reviews, and drive supplier corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
Customer Complaint Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead customer complaint investigations and coating failure analysis to identify and address root causes.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, RCA, FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Why and CAPA to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Laboratory Management
- Manage QC laboratory operations, testing activities and the maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment.
Contract Manufacturing / Outsourced Manufacturing Quality
- Qualify and audit contract manufacturing facilities and establish quality agreements and governance processes.
- Monitor performance to ensure consistent product quality across outsourced manufacturing operations.
Technology Transfer & New Product Introduction
- Lead technology transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing and support the successful scale-up and commercialization of new products.
- Develop quality documentation, validation protocols, control plans and standardized manufacturing processes.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma and SPC initiatives to reduce defects, customer complaints, scrap and rework and improve operational performance.
Budgeting, CAPEX & Cost Management
- Manage QA/QC and laboratory budgets, develop CAPEX proposals and drive cost optimization and quality cost reduction programs.
Regulatory Compliance & Customer Approvals
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, customer requirements and EHS standards.
- Support customer audits, product approvals and quality documentation requirements.
People Management
- Lead, coach and develop QA/QC teams through training, performance management and capability-building initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering 8–15 years of relevant of relevant work expereince.
