External Job Description

Job Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for mechanical utilities maintenance, CAPEX project execution, statutory compliance, and contractor management to ensure high equipment uptime, cost control, safety, and compliance with company standards and statutory requirements.

Business Responsibility Areas

Maintenance & Reliability

Plan, implement, and monitor Preventive & Predictive Maintenance schedules for mechanical utilities such as:

HVAC systems : Pumps, Fans, Blowers
Air compressors
Chillers
Diesel generators
Infrastructure facilities (Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil)
Ensure maximum equipment availability through breakdown analysis and root cause analysis (RCA).
Implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain equipment performance at optimal efficiency levels.
Release of Annual maintenance contract to maintain the equipment, review of AMC vendor.

2. Compliance to Standards: ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Factories Act, including:
Lifting Tools & Tackles
Pressure Vessels
Fire Safety systems
Adhere to and implement ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
Implement and periodically review maintenance manuals and SOPs at shop‑floor/laboratory level.
Support audits (internal, external, statutory) and ensure timely closure of observations.

3. Critical Spare management
Identify and manage critical spares inventory.
Review and approve minimum/maximum inventory levels.
Monitor maintenance and project expenditure against budgets.
Propose mitigation actions in case of budget deviations.

4. Contractor management
Float RFQs, perform technical & commercial evaluations, and recommend vendors.
Finalize and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
Monitor vendor performance and ensure service quality.
Manage contractors on‑site, ensuring adherence to safety, statutory, and site requirements.

5. Capex implementation
Support preparation of CAPEX proposals in coordination with user departments.
Execute projects involving erection, commissioning, and installation of mechanical systems.
Track project schedules, costs, and progress against approved plans.
Ensure projects are completed within budget and timelines.

6. Team and Stakehloder Co-ordination
Supervise daily activities of technicians and contractors.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to meet operational targets.
Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and authorities.

100% Compliance to Preventive and Predictive Maintenance schedule.
100%  adherence to Annual maintenance schedule for various Equipments
100% adherence to time schedule for execution of assigned project.
100% Compliance with engineering standards, statutory requirement, APL quality & EHS system requirement.
Improved utilities uptime and cost efficiency

Qualifications

Essential
•Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering 

Desired
•Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety 


Previous Experience

Essential
•Should have at least 2-3 years of Industrial experience of Maintenance/Projects for Paint / Chemical / Pharma / Paper / Steel industries. 

Desired
•Maintenance (HVAC, Air Compressor, Chiller, DG) and Projects 

Functional Competencies    
•    SAP, FMEA, Procurement

Behavioral Competencies    
•    Problem Solving, Good Communication skill

Additional Requirements    
•    Ability to adapt and learn
