RESEARCH EXECUTIVE N - Floor Coatings

External Job Description

Job Purpose
The position is for Research Executive Level N  for Deco Business in Floor Coatings. The candidate should have good understanding of Floor Coatings’ formulations & its application techniques. The role would be responsible for the development of various Floor Coating systems such as Epoxy, Polyurethane, ESD, PU Concrete, Anti-skid, and Chemical resistant coatings. Coordinate with technical/application teams for product trials or demos. Ensure timely completion of projects with adherence to quality and safety standards. 

Primary Responsibilities
Business Responsibility Areas
(Please detail out at least 8-10 responsibility areas)  

1)    Conducting literature survey and experimental planning for new product development
2)    Processing of batches and testing of the experimental designs as per the test protocol defined
3)    Conducting application/ product validation trials at sites which can be located at different locations acrossIndia
4)    Testing and analysis of benchmark samples
5)    Evaluation of alternate RMs in the existing product formulation for suitability
6)    Support to plant w.r.t. standardization of the product at PEL/ OPC
7)    Maintaining appropriate and updated records of experiments in lab notebook & Optiva
8)    Data tabulation and interpretation, technical report preparation and presentation at the review meetings
9)    Attending & resolving issues in Floor coating sites – Customer/ site complaint

Key Performance Indicators
Completion of all the activities assigned within stipulated timelines.
•    Maintaining proper records of activities in the lab register as well as Optiva.
•    Reproducibility and repeatability (R&R) of the work done.
•    No of Products developed and new ideas created

Qualifications    Role Requirements / Specifications
Essential
•    B.E / B. Tech. (Paint/Chemical/Surface Engg.) from Engineering institutes OR M.Sc. Chemistry 
•    Minimum of 50% marks throughout education without any backlogs
•    Graduation must be through a full-time course
Desired
•    Course on Paint Technology

Previous Experience    

Desired
•    1-3 years’ experience preferable in Floor coating Companies 
•    Eg: BASF, MYK, FOSROC, Sika, Cipy etc.

Functional Competencies    
•    Knowledge of Product Development and Application techniques for Floor coating products 
•    R&D Experience for Min. 2 Years
