External Job Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing ER/IR and HR administrative processes, ensuring compliance, employee welfare, and supporting industrial relations at the plant.
Business Responsibility Areas:
Time office & Payroll:
Monitor & Review time office activities for correct attendance management and timely resolution of employee grievances in this area
Ensure right processes are put in place for attendance management of contract labour
Review and ensure that payroll process for operators, staff and managerial cadre are runs in a smooth manner
Security, Gate Control & Facilities Management:
Provide effective gate control as per manual for securing the Plant property and employees
Monitor and review Security team performance and coordinate with the security agency for any changes
Assess risks to plant property and employees, build information network with local bodies for identifying risks and strengthen the security practices
Identify contractors / agency for employee transportation, housekeeping and gardening
Vendor sourcing, commercials, and seamless execution of employee transport services across shifts at plant
Oversee work of agencies to ensure plant upkeep with respect to 5S, cleaner and greener working environment.
Train new executives/managers on plant residency roles
Contract Labour Management:
Perform audit and take corrective actions to ensure statutory compliances in the area of contract labor management
Address grievances of contract employees shared by the contractor on time
Identify Risks and make process changes to mitigate the same
Statutory Compliances & Legal:
Review and complete PF & ESIC activities (returns, nominations, loans, contributions etc.)
Ensure timely filing of labour returns (PF, ESIC, Contract Labour, Factories Act, Apprentice Act, Payment of Wages etc.)
Respond to government inspections and notices for smooth closure
Coordinate with advocates and update leadership on legal cases
Employee Relations Agenda:
Distribute welfare items and conduct events as per calendar
Strengthen grievance redressal and resolve welfare-related issues
Coordinate with departments for shopfloor grievance resolution
Design and implement employee involvement and welfare initiatives
Support Sr. Manager in driving employee relations programs
Stakeholder Management and External liaisoning:
Liaison effectively with local and Government officials, Police machinery
IR liasoning with political influencers, Union Leaders and local bodies
Maintain healthy relationship with the labour office in the area
Industrial & Employee relations:
Communicate with Union and employees to understand concerns
Act as first point of contact for Union issue resolution
Support Sr. Manager in IR dispute resolution and long-term settlements
Handle disciplinary actions and legal drafting for misconduct cases
Draft responses to letters from Union, political parties, and authorities
Occupational Heath Center management:
Statutory, vendor sourcing, commercials, and execution of round-the-clock OHC & Internal Medical services in the Plant
Qualifications:
MBA/MSW in HR with relevant domain experience in areas of liaisoning and IR
Previous Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience in HR and IR
