External Job Description
Job Title: Executive Level N - Safety
Department: Safety
Qualifications: Diploma in Industrial safety recognized by State Board of Technical Education and Training or DGFASLI.
Previous Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Business Responibilities:
A. Training and Employee Engagement:
1. Conduct safety induction for new employees and contractors
2. Organize periodic safety training, mock drills, and toolbox talks
3. Attend safety meetings in the plant and closing safety points of such meetings.
4. Conduct Safety round and sharing observation report on daily basis
5. Promote safety awareness through signage, literature, and campaigns
6. Drive Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs and safety culture initiatives
B. Safety Audits and Inspections
7. Conduct statutory and non-statutory inspections (e.g., lifting tools, pressure vessels)
8. Participate in internal and external safety audits; ensure CAPA implementation
9. Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA)
10. Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance
11. Inspect all safety equipment and maintain them in good manner
C. Safety and Fire & Emergency Preparedness
12. Ensure good health of safety guards, safety interlocks, hand tools and power tools in the plant
13. Ensure 100% compliance with work permit system and safe isolation procedure
14. Ensure compliance with fire risk assessments and emergency response plans.
15. Maintain fire safety systems (hydrants, extinguishers, alarms).
16. Train employees on emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
D. Incident Reporting & Analysis
17. Report and investigate all incidents and near misses via internal portal
18. Maintain incident trend analysis and identify potential loss areas
19. Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and preventive actions
E. Workplace safety & Compliance
20. Ensure hygiene, 5S, and safety displays across the plant.
21. Risk assessment, HAZOP study, Factories Act 1948, FMEA, legal frameworks for safety
22. Monitor hazardous substances, noise, ventilation, and dust levels.
23. Conduct BBS program in plan to build and improve safety culture
24. Ensure BBS drives across the plant by creative way and engage employee and contractor workers towards safety culture improvement
25. Ensure 100% compliance with Work Permit and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) systems
26. Maintain and inspect PPEs and safety equipment
F. Legal & Statutory Compliance
27. Ensure compliance with Factories Act, IMS, and other applicable regulations
28. Maintain documentation and records for statutory inspections and audits
29. Use platforms like Polestar and GRC for legal compliance tracking
G. Budget & Resource Management
30. Manage safety department budgets (Capex and Revenue)
31. Ensure timely procurement and availability of safety resources
